2nd Playoff Game

Well, there won't be a championship game for us. We did our best and we're proud of it.

Bob and I think it can down to the expectation of winning. We went against the 6th place team and we are the 2nd place team. So, everyone expected us to win. The kids were so nervous and anxious to perform and they kind of fell apart. It was hard to see them like that. Our first batter couldn't even get up there to bat, his nerves were so bad. Uggh, you hate to see that happen to a kid. These are some of the lessons that team sports teach. Some of them are hard lessons.

The game was back and forth, them up 2, then us up 2, etc. In the top of the 6th inning, the other team blew it open with a 7 run lead. It was too hard for us to come back. We lost 14 to 7. It was a hard loss. The kids took it pretty well. Bob and I did okay with the loss too. But, we are so exhausted from the season. We learned that we need to pace ourselves better next year and not get so emotionally invested. What a season it was though! We had a lot of fun.

We'll be going to our team party this evening to wrap it up and we'll receive our second place trophies next Saturday at closing ceremonies.
