Saturday

So, our boys were shepherds in last night's Christmas pagaent at church. Saturday morning we had our dress rehearsal and pizza lunch. Then in the evening we were invited to participate in the annual Holiday Lights Boat parade down at the Santa Cruz harbor. We didn't launch Bob's boat for the festivities. It would have been a lot of work for just a few hours of the parade. We went on our friend's boat, Charlie Rice, or Mr. Rice as many know him. He was our boys' kindergarten teacher last year. We hit it off with him and his family. Mostly because of Bob and Charlie's match made in heaven. They both sail and have their own boat and get this, they are both die hard baseball fans. Perfect for Bob right? Charlie loves the Dodgers and Bob, well who else than the Cubs? Anyway, Charlie entered the parade for the first time. His boat is always parked in the harbor and he always went to watch the parade and never entered it. He wanted a capable sailor to go along and that meant inviting us all. It was so fun! We knew some of the people on different boats and watching from shore. We did the tour around the marina about 4 times. Of course all the boats were decorated with lights and more. Some boats must have had thousands of lights.

I guess you had a pretty busy weekend. Do you have any pictures of the boats with the lights? Looks like fun.. I'll have to try to catch it next year for sure.
